A brief introduction to Fast File Splitter (FFS)
Fast File Splitter (FFS for short) is a file splitting tool. You use FFS whenever you want to split a large file into multiple smaller ones. Why would I want to do that you ask yourself? There are unlimited reasons for that, here are a couple:
- Suppose you have a 50 MB file you want to send to someone via email but your email provider wouldn't allow you to attach a file with a size more than 5 MB, what would you do? You would simply split your large file into 10 smaller files (of 5 MB each) and send them.
- Suppose you want to backup a very large file to a CD. The file size if 1GB what would you do? Again the answer is to split the file into multiple files to be able to store it on your CD.
- Have a USB storage divce with only 256 MB free space and you want to move a 1GB file from one PC to another? Simply break down the file into smaller files that fit on your storage device and copy them one by one.

I am sure you can think of many more uses for FFS.

Fast File Splitter Features
In addition to its main task of splitting large files, FFS comes bundled with a lot of features. Let us tackle the most important ones:
1. File Encryption: You will be able to encrypt your split files for safe storage! No one will be able to access your sensitive data unless they have the password you have picked. You can even use the encryption feature to encrypt small files without splitting them, that is by choosing your small file and choosing and split size bigger than the original file size.
2. File Compression: Save more space with this feature! A 1GB file can be compressed to an 800 MB file saving 200 MB.
3. Self extracting file (SFX file): Split files can be merged without the need of FFS! Self extracting files can join all your split files in seconds without the need to install FFS on the 'target' PC.
4. Licensing system for SFX files: You can even license your split files. Put your copyright and/or license agreement for users. This can be useful if you are using the splitter in your installer.
5. Autorun commands: Use this feature in order to run a custom command after a join is completed. Very useful in some scenarios such as joining a big executable to be run directly and others...
6. Silent join: Feature useful when the splitter is embedded into another software and don't want it to be shown.
7. SFX icon change: Want more customization to your SFX joining? You will be able to put a custom icon for SFX files in order to make it look nicer and illustrate its contents better.
